Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs attended the game at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday evening, hoping for a victory against the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the American League Division Series.
Until the fifth inning, the Royals were unable to score any runs, but they eventually managed to tie the game at 2-2.
Following this turn of events, Mahomes erupted with excitement in his VIP box, even confronting a former teammate clad in Yankees attire.
Mahomes, who possesses a 1% stake in the Royals, sat in the VIP box with his wife Brittany, as well as other close associates, appearing eager to engage with his former teammate Gehrig Dieter, who likely had been taunting him up to that moment.
Patrick Mahomes exhibited his elation as the Royals tied the game, amidst the electric atmosphere in Kauffman Stadium after second baseman Michael Massey’s game-tying triple sailed just beyond the reach of Yankees’ player Juan Soto, who unsuccessfully attempted to make the catch.
Regrettably for the three-time Super Bowl champion, his actions did not sit well with fans, leading to an onslaught of criticism online.
Seems like a tough crowd.
Patrick Mahomes didn’t have the last laugh as the Yankees emerged victorious with a score of 3-2.
The NFL luminary wasn’t the only Mahomes present that evening; his brother, Jackson, was also in attendance.
