The Boston Red Sox have been associated with multiple players recently. It all began with Juan Soto, but there has been a recent development with the addition of Aroldis Chapman to their pitching roster. The team is aiming to secure a spot in the playoffs next season, and Chapman could be a suitable addition.

As of now, Soto seems to be in the background, with many speculating that affording him might not be feasible for the team. The agreement between the Red Sox and Chapman stands at a one-year deal worth $10.5 million. MLB insider Jeff Passan was among the first to inform about this on X.

While the Red Sox are striving to strengthen their pitching lineup, numerous fans expressed dissatisfaction upon hearing about Chapman’s signing. Some supporters are of the opinion that Chapman may not be the right choice for Boston.

Here is a glimpse of some of the fan reactions on X.

“There goes the Soto money,” wrote a fan.

“Boo! No thanks, not at that number,” commented another fan.

“I think you misspelled Juan Soto and got the numbers wrong,” mentioned a fan.

“This is the worst thing that has ever happened,” chimed in another fan.

“Nice, can’t wait for him to give up a Walk-Off Home Run to Judge,” added a different fan.

Aroldis Chapman Breaks News On Social Media By Wearing A Boston Red Sox Cap

Chapman posted an image on X while at the gym with his dog. The 36-year-old sported a Boston Red Sox cap and captioned the post, “Let’s Go.” While the physical examination is pending, the four-time All-Star has secured a team.

Chapman is known for his powerful pitching in the league. His ability to deliver fastballs can dazzle some of the top hitters consistently. Chapman concluded the 2024 season with a 5-5 record and a 3.79 ERA. The left-handed pitcher struck out 98 opposing hitters while playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The addition of a left-handed pitcher such as Chapman could benefit the Red Sox, providing a boost to their bullpen. Several free agents have already signed with teams, but the most coveted player in the market, Juan Soto, is still available.
