Despite this setback, the resilient 30-year-old managed to play in Games 3, 4, and 5.
Subsequently diagnosed with a torn labrum, it was announced by the team that Ohtani had successful arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder to mend the injury.
Shohei Ohtani underwent successful arthroscopic surgery today in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, to address a labrum tear resulting from a left shoulder dislocation on Oct. 26. He is anticipated to be ready for Spring Training.

With the surgery completed, Ohtani is expected to make a full recovery in time for Spring Training.
It is worth mentioning that Ohtani, under a contract worth $700 million, had previously undergone Tommy John surgery on the same arm, causing him to miss this season’s pitching games.
In his inaugural season with the Dodgers, Ohtani, as a designated hitter, achieved a historic feat of being the sole member in MLB history to have both 50 stolen bases and 50 home runs in a single season. The Japanese star finished the season with impressive stats including a .310 batting average, 54 home runs, 130 RBIs, and 59 stolen bases.
Despite a less than stellar postseason debut (.230 average, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs), Ohtani remains a top contender for the NL MVP title.
