NLCS Game 6: Dodgers ahead in the series 3-2
Should the Dodgers conquer the Mets in Game 6, they will secure their 25th pennant, extending their reign as the most successful team in NL history, and then earn an opportunity to secure their eighth World Series against the New York Yankees.
At the current moment, the Dodgers are leading 10-4 at the bottom of the eighth inning, maintaining a five-run advantage against the resilient Mets. Earlier in the fourth inning, Mark Vientos blasted a two-run homer to trim the lead to three.
His homer injected some energy into the Mets after the Dodgers appeared to dominate with a 6-1 lead heading into the fourth inning. Following pitcher Ryan Brasier delivering an 85 MPH slider, Vientos swung and connected with the ball.

However, the subsequent pitch was an 84 MPH slider perfectly placed for Vientos, and he smacked the ball 401 feet, bringing home Francisco Alvarez in the process and establishing a new record for the most RBIs in a single postseason for the Mets.
Nevertheless, it appears that the Dodgers are on track for their first World Series in four years. Fans of baseball have eagerly awaited a thrilling Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series since this possibility emerged in the postseason, and they may only have one inning left to witness their dream match-up.
